    Abstract: Flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum) is a functional plant that can be used in both industrial, food and medicinal fields. It is also anisotropic, showing different properties in different directions. Flax is classified according to many different criteria, such as robustness, decomposability of fibers and mechanical resistance. The lignan (SDG) in its content is an anticancer substance; it is protective against breast, colon and prostate cancer, slows the growth rate of cancerous cells and strengthens the immune system. Omega 3 fatty acid in flax is 7000 times higher than in fish. It has a protective effect against heart diseases, atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, triglyceride and blood pressure lowering effect.
